Mike studied Biology and Earth Science at the University Wisconsin-La Crosse while working in environmental health and plant communities for local government agencies.  He then went to Idaho State University for Botany. After graduation he worked for USDA-National Resources Conservation Service-Plant Material Center in Idaho, doing plant research.   

Mike’s specialty is matching plants to the diverse soils of our area.
