Xeriscaping

What is Xeriscaping?  Xeriscaping is the creation of a landscape that minimizes the use of water.  As water cost increase and potential sources of fresh water decrease it has become more important to conserve.

When drought conditions occur many municipalities require rationing of outdoor water.  This may make it difficult to grow grass and other moisture needy landscape plants.

With proper planning a landscape can be created or converted to require less water.  Simple adjustments such as plant selection, grouping plants that have similar water needs together and minimizing turf areas can help conserve water.
