Purplish-pink blooms coat Redbud trees in spring, emerging before leaves to create a truly stunning display early in the season. Spreading, sometimes multi-stemmed growth habit lends interesting form to the garden. Bright green, heart-shaped leaves give redbud an almost tropical feel. An excellent specimen tree, or in groupings for early season impact. Plant along woodland borders, near a patio, or in a landscape bed for a gorgeous pop of color in spring.

Easily grows in average, well-drained, moderately moist soil. Avoid drought. Will tolerate clay soils. An under story tree, redbud is a fine choice for part shade conditions.
